Next, we had to tape the ca coons to the top of the butterfly cage. This was Timmy's job. I couldn't stand to get this close the creatures. Easton and Allie were so into this.
Then we waited....for about a week. The book said about 7 days and Easton and Allie counted down the days. Finally one at a time, there came butterflies. We kept them in the cage with water for a couple of days until Allie held each one and then let them free.
Very neat idea for your kids, especially at this age. Thank you Aunt Brenda!!!

ReplyDeleteOur first grade classes at Lakewood order caterpillar each spring. I agree: it is an amazing thing to watch them transform into butterflies! We just released ours the other day, and the children waved and told them good-bye. It is one of my favorite activities that we do each year!
